Tremmel Design Group was proud to help sponsor the American Institute of Architects annual Box City event for kids in April. The event was a part of Colorado Architecture Month which through many public events highlights the importance of architecture in our everyday lives. Despite the inclement weather, over 70 kids and parents participated in the event. The children (grades K-5) were responsible for requesting permits, ordering materials and then designing and constructing their buildings out of cardboard boxes, markers and paper. It’s a hands on experience where kids get to be creative and then thoughtful when planning their city. The kids created fire stations, hotels, veterinary clinics and also ‘skyscrapers’. If you missed this years event please be sure to like our Facebook page and we’ll be sure to update with the 2017 Box City event!
